Continuing a 12 year old tradition, SEB in Latvia also this year participated in Shadow Day, giving schoolchildren from all over Latvia the opportunity to get to know the bank’s everyday work. 272 students applied and 49 of them got the chance to follow an SEB employee during a working day.

The application period for SEB’s corporate trainee programme starting in January 2012 has started. Openings for the one year programme are available in Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Norway and Finland. With the trainee programme, SEB aims to attract young, promising employees with a desire to develop within the Group.

For the second year running, SEB has won a tender issued by the Ministry of Finance in Latvia regarding the right to issue state-guaranteed study and student loans. The total amount of financing to be dispensed by SEB during 2011 in study and student loans is 28.7 million lats.

In line with the strategy to increase the number of women who work in Trading & Capital Markets, women from Handelshögskolan and KTH in Stockholm were invited to an introductory event recently to learn about TCM and Merchant Banking’s summer internship programme.
