Continuing an initiative started two years ago, SEB has decided to provide all first-graders in Latvia with free accident insurance for a year in the amount of 1,000 lats. SEB estimates that about 20,000 children will attend school for the first time and thus be covered by insurance.

Previously, this initiative was carried out in cooperation with municipalities in Latvia, but this year marks the first time SEB presents the policies alone.

Ints Krasts“Children are full of and energy and are in constant motion. School is a new adventure for the children and a source of pride for parents as much as it is a concern. To help prevent unexpected expenses caused by accidents in this active period of life, SEB has stepped forward to share this concern with parents and offer a one-year accident insurance policy for first-graders,” says Ints Krasts, head of SEB’s local life insurance unit in Latvia.

The organisation that now forms SEB’s life insurance unit in Latvia this year celebrates its 70 year anniversary. The bank has arranged client events since the beginning of the year and in April began presenting accident insurance policies with coverage of 1,000 euro to patients of the Accident Surgery and Orthopaedics Department of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital.
