SEB Latvia’s traditional calendar targeted at partners this year features pictures from Unesco world heritage sites in twelve countries where SEB operates. In this way SEB honours Unesco’s 65 birthday.

"Each country is built on its historical heritage, which it seeks to preserve to highlight individuality and culture. Today, during the technology era, it is important not to forget the fundamental values on which our culture is based and which provides a stable and sustainable community development. Unesco's contribution to maintain the cultural and natural values is remarkable, and we at SEB are pleased that with the help of this calendar we can remind our customers and colleagues on the significance and value of this heritage,” says Ainārs Ozols, head of SEB Latvia.

Unesco is short for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Unecso seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity. SEB Latvia’s calendar for 2010 contains twelve images of exceptional and inspiring places, famous for its history, nature or art.

“Unesco LNC highly assesses the involvement of SEB Latvia in gathering and distributing information of Unesco's areas of expertise, activities and national capabilities, particularly in highlighting the world cultural and natural heritage and necessity to preserve and promote it. Such private initiative confirms that there are companies in Latvia who care about the social, cultural and educational development and who are aware that the responsibility for them is something we all have in common,” says Dagnija Baltiņa, Secretary General of Latvian National Commission for Unesco.
