SEB has appointed Cecilia Widebäck West as new head of Corporate Sustainability effective from 1 January, 2010. "My role is to coordinate our work and push for sustainability issues to be integrated in all SEB's activities," she says.
Widebäck West currently works at Merchant Banking’s customer relations unit. She joined SEB in 1986 and has worked as a client executive for large corporate customers during the past nine years.
Widebäck West has a strong personal commitment to sustainability issues – a commitment that has always been there, but has grown stronger over the past few years.
“I believe many employees in the bank and people in general want to feel they contribute to developing society in a positive way. As a bank we have always had that mission so for us it is nothing new but a natural process.”
Ingrid Jansson, responsible for laying the foundation since September 2008, retires from SEB in March next year. She will support Cecilia Widebäck West during a transition period in the first quarter.
