Environmental expert joins SEB’s sustainability team

Led by Cecilia Widebäck West, SEB's corporate sustainabilty team now adds Jonas Solehav as a senior environmental director. He currently works at the Swedish Export Credits Guarantee Board (EKN) as an environmental analyst. “Banks have a key role to play in moving things forward. It's by combining environmental and finance issues that you can really achieve results,” he says.

Solehav is an experienced environmental analyst and through his work at EKN he is used to working with financing matters for the export industry. He previously also worked as an environmental analyst at Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) in Helsinki. Jonas Solehav is also internationally active in an OECD working group looking at power plants.

How do you view your job at SEB?
“I have taken an interest in the connection between environmental and finance issues for a long time. It is by combining them that we can really reach results. I therefore feel it is a natural and important step to help drive these questions in the bank.”

How can banks contribute best to a better environment in the world?
“By developing products that takes a sustainability view and combining them with the financial strength and central position in the economy that banks posses. The products include funds and other investment products as well as loans and project financing.”

Jonas Solehav will take up his new position in March next year at the latest.
